      <description>&lt;P&gt;EINs are 9 digits. If the EIN that you were provided has 10 digits, it is incorrect and you need to speak with your payroll department for clarification. &amp;nbsp;The format is typically shown as 12-3456789, but if your W-2 shows 123456789, it is ok to have a dash between digits 2 and 3.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
