Can you opt out of getting a letter that your amended return was approved? Or is this automatic? Can you have it sent somewhere else?

No, you can't opt out of receiving a letter. You will receive one saying it was approved or one that says it was not approved. You can submit a Form 8822, Change of Address to the IRS. Do they send any other correspondence on your amended return (email or mail), or just the mail that it’s done?

It depends on whether there are any other issues related to the return. They might only send the one letter but they might keep sending letters. Go ahead and change your address.
