You might need to have an extra amount withheld from your paychecks if you are ending up owing tax due each year.

In order not to owe additional taxes for 2025 next year, you may need to change the entries on your Form W-4 with your employer, or pay quarterly estimated taxes if you have other sources of income besides wages.

If most of your income is spread evenly throughout the year and you are primarily paid as an employee, and if you think your withholding in 2025 might be just a little bit short of what you need to avoid a penalty next year, you can revise your W-4 with your employer to take out a specific additional amount each pay period to cover the difference. See step 4c on Form W-4 (2024). This would be easier than setting up quarterly estimated payments if most of your income is from wages.

See this tax tips article for more information about revising Form W-4.

Form W-4 is what you provide to your employer to report your filing status, number of dependents, and other withholding allowances. You can submit a new form to your employer at any time to correct this information and it will change your withholding for future paychecks.

You can ask your employer for a new form or you can have TurboTax prepare one. See here for more information. You can also use the tools at the links that @xmasbaby0 provided to help you decide how much additional tax to have withheld.
