Which version of Turbo Tax shall I use for tax filing for 2024? Deluxe or Premier?

Dear friends at Turbotax community,

My wife and I both are W2 earners and have been using Turbotax Deluxe for the past few years. In 2024, we sold quite some stocks/mutual funds so that we have enough cash for a down payment. As a result, I calculated estimated tax and went ahead with the payments. We also used the down payment and purchases a house with a 30-years fixed loan (or mortgage).

I am hoping Turbotax Deluxe would still be sufficient to file my 2024 tax. Could you please confirm?

If you use the Online version you need Premium.

If you buy the Desktop program you can use Deluxe but would get more help in Premier. All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions.

If all desktop programs have the same forms, I assume everybody can take advantage of this forum and ask questions. May I ask what's the mechanism through which Premier users can get more help?

Oh the Premier version just has more help built into the program as you enter your investment sales. More step by step questions I guess. I’m not sure what it does over the Deluxe version. I always buy the Home & Business version.
