If I download the turbotax program, can I make a CD of the version without my tax information? In the past, I always had the CD to have available and would save my return elsewhere.

Yes, you can do that. The download is one file. Just copy the downloaded file to the CD. For Windows the name of the download file is Windows_PC_TurboTax_Download.exe.

Another option is to buy a CD from TurboTax for $10, after you have purchased the download.

Yes. You can now buy an install CD for $10 after you buy a License Code for the version you want.

But since you now have to log into an Intuit Account all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to download to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac). And the download will always be up to date with all the updates.

Your tax info and tax return are not kept in the program. But in a separate data file endind in .tax2024, etc.
