      <description>&lt;P&gt;You don't file as either of those.&amp;nbsp; You file as Single or Married.&amp;nbsp; You file the income you got.&amp;nbsp; You will get a W2 for your 2024 wages and a 1099G if you get unemployment.&amp;nbsp; And any other 1099 like for bank interest or IRA or 401k distributions, etc.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;For occupation use the one in which you had income.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The IRS does not use "occupation" for anything that affects your refund or tax due. &amp;nbsp; They only use it for statistical purposes. &amp;nbsp; You can enter the job you had while employed if you want to for occupation. &amp;nbsp; There is no other place on a tax return to say you were employed or that you are unemployed.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
