If your Mac does not support the 2024 desktop software you can request a refund for the purchase of the software and then use online software instead. But you cannot pay for the online software using the license key for the download.

I had the same problem today. I was able to request a refund from Amazon and they agreed to it. However, it's still very frustrating that TurboTax is incompatible with a MacBook Pro that I have been using TuboTax on for at least the last 8 years (probably longer).

Total crap on Intuit's part. They claim that they are concerned about security and the fact that Apple will no longer provide security updates. Their solution is to do it all online. Ya, right, that's secure! I've been involved in 4 data breaches over the last year that's exposed everything there is to expose, and I'm supposed to trust the online version of TurboTax! Meanwhile I've done my taxes on this insecure Mac for the last 5 years. Bull**bleep** is all I can say. Let me make the decision on my security, not Intuit.

Couldn't agree more.

Intuit does not care about the customer.

Now, because of their unilateral decision, I have to upgrade my MAC OS, which means - - in the middle of the tax season - - I have to:

1. do NEW automatic backups of my files and MAC OS system, in case something goes wrong with the upgrade,

2. do NEW automatic backups of my files and Windows OS system, since I also run Windows on my Mac

3. do manual backups of ALL my files

4. figure out what MAC OS to install (13, 14, 15, etc.). Apple in infamous for sending out OS with bugs, so which OS should I take a chance on?

I started my on line taxes and it was horrible. I couldn't see the progress I was doing. It also wants to charge over a $100 to file and I just bought what I thought was the disc and now my MacBook is a 12.7.6...why not the disc now...why is online turbo charging more than I paid for a code?
