I received overpayment in 2022 and I held on to it so I could pay it back, but it added so much money to my income (I worked full time for 10 months), that I ended up in a different tax bracket for 2022 and owed $7k in taxes. Now, at the end of 2024, they are starting a repayment plan over 4 years but I don't work anymore. Can I redo my 2022 tax returns which would reduce my income for that year and get back some of that tax money?
