2018 desktop software (free) no activation code

Hello I downloaded the 2018 software for turbotax and it's asking for an installation key but I didn't get one in the receipt and I didn't get an email where some people say they received it.

Are you sure you got 2018? There is no code for 2018. The License Code started in 2019. Where did you get 2018? It might be a scam. Turbo Tax only has the last 3 years available.

I searched prior year taxes and it brings you to options for different years (from turbotax website)

What is the full name of the file you downloaded? Are you on Windows or Mac? If you went to the previous year products sounds like you downloaded a more recent year. And did you get it free? How? Sounds like you were not on the official Turbo Tax website.
