ECN certificate number

I didn't have insurance and I'm trying to file my taxes, it's requiring me to enter an ECN number. I never filed for an exemption for hardship because I didn't know it was required.

What is your question?

I assume you are talking about a state tax return, because there is no health insurance requirement on the federal tax return, and therefore no exemption is needed. What state is it? Every state is different.

You will not be able to file with TurboTax Online after today. You will have to finish your tax return in the CD/Download TurboTax software. Download your .tax2023 data file to your computer right now, so you will be able to use it to finish your tax return.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out. I’m in CA, I didn’t know an exemption was required for months I didn’t have health insurance. I was under the impression I had to file it last year. I learned that you can file it up to 4 years back. I was not able to complete my e-file, I will have to update the ECN number when my request is approved and mail it in physically.
