    <description>&lt;P&gt;Are you sure what you read was not referring to saving a PDF on your computer (or other media) and not reading the .tax file?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The only way to read the original .tax file would be to open it in the TurboTax program.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I recall reading in years past that one can “sort-of uninstall” past TurboTax programs so you can still see returns forms etc but no longer have the program clogging your computer. &amp;nbsp;Can’t find it now. &amp;nbsp;Still available? Name for it? &amp;nbsp;Thanks. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;That has never been a thing. &amp;nbsp;You should save your return as a pfd file each year so you can open it with any pdf reader like Adobe reader. &amp;nbsp;Maybe you are remembering another program. &amp;nbsp;But you need the full updated Turbo Tax&amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN&gt;program installed to open a .taxyyyy file.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
