      <description>&lt;P&gt;if you are using the basic online version it does not have schedule D. you must upgrade. otherwise in the jump to/search box type "capital". no quotes. then from the list double-click on the capital asset sales worksheet. follow the instructions at the bottom of the window that opens.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;or in step-mode Federal taxes&amp;gt; wages and income tab. scroll down to investment income, select one of the first two lines&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I believe that even in forms mode with the desktop version, you can't directly edit schedule D. &amp;nbsp;Most of the information on schedule D flows from a worksheet or another form like form 8949. &amp;nbsp;You have to edit the source of the information where it flows from, rather than directly editing the schedule D.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
