import 2022 into 2023 desktop version

hi there, I have my .tax2022 file which I did in desktop on MAC last year.

i have downloaded the desktop on MAC for 2023 return and looking to import the 2022 info to give me a head start, can you outline the exact steps?

I have tried file>import, which asks for TXF files which is not correct.

I have tried opening the 2022 desktop version via opening the .tax2022 file and the prior yr details are not coming thru.

Can you assist?
