If you purchased the 2022 download from TurboTax.com you can download it and install it on the new PC the same way you downloaded and installed it on the old PC.

How do I install TurboTax Desktop?

If you purchased it somewhere else, contact the seller to see if you can still download the 2022 software.

What do you mean you transferred the data? Did you move the file ending in .tax2022 to the new pc? Did you use the Online version or the Desktop program to do 2022? Or do you mean the .tax2021 file to transfer into 2022?

Did you use the Desktop program before? What I would do on the old computer, is copy the whole Turbo Tax folder that is under your Documents. That should be where the .tax files and pdf files are stored. Also if you haven't done it, I would open each year in the program and save it as a pdf file, go to FILE - SAVE TO PDF so you don't need the program installed to view your return. Copy that folder to a flash drive or best yet is to burn it to a CD or DVD and then you will have a backup of them. Then on the new computer copy the folder (or files) from the flash drive to your Documents folder.

You only need the tax return data file ending in .tax2022 to transfer into 2023 or .tax2023 to transfer into next year. You don't need to install older programs unless you need to amend or you didn't save the pdf file. See this article on how to move your tax return to another computer…….

IMPORTANT
After you get the program installed or reinstalled the first thing to do before you open your tax return is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to FILE - NEW). Enter some basic information, then go to the state tab and download the state program. Then try to open your existing return, go to FILE - OPEN

Did you get the answer after all? All the instructions failed. I went to installturbotax.com, signed into my account, 2022 state installer is there but not 2022 federal installer for TurboTax Premier. I have the CD but my old computer failed. The new laptop doesn't have the CD slot. Online support suggested to call and the machine customer service only knows if you select 3 options which are related to current year tax return.

If you still have your old computer with the TurboTax 2022 program, you could copy the folder from Documents > TurboTax to a removable drive and transfer it to your new one.

If your 2022 TurboTax download is not appearing in your account, it is likely because you are signed into a different account than the one used for the original purchase, or the software was installed via CD. Use the TurboTax account recovery tool to find all User IDs, or contact TurboTax Support to make the download visible.
