I forgot to put dependent when I filed for 2023. I just efiled with added dependent. The app stated my refund amount and said it would be direct deposited with 3 weeks. Now I'm reading it takes up to 20 weeks. Does anyone know how long I should be expecting my refund to take?

As of January 2024 it says.....

The current processing time is more than 20 weeks for both paper and electronically filed amended returns.

I did wait until I got my first refund. I got that several months ago

Don't know why Turbo Tax says 3 weeks. That would be for the original refund and is just an estimate which is usually wrong. The IRS is saying 20 weeks for amended returns. After 3 weeks you can track it at Where's my Amended return?
