January would have been pretty early to file a state return. Many states were not accepting returns so early. Are you certain that you filed the state return in January?

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities, There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals. Some states process returns quickly and some are very slow.

STATE RETURN

Make sure your state return was accepted: https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

I have not heard anything since I filed my state tax in January 29. Their web site is a joke and I can't get any answers, they say they haven't received my information yet?

If the state says they don't have your information yet, you should sign back in to your TurboTax account and make sure your state return was accepted.

You should see accepted for your federal return. There should be a separate status for your state right next to it. If it's accepted, you are all done.

If your state says anything other than accepted, you haven't finished filing it.

To finish your state and e-file it:

Select Add State.

Select State Taxes, then State Review.

If any details are identified, answer the questions that come up.

Repeat until no more details come up. If you get a message you don't understand, or a question you can't answer, share it here and TurboTax will help you with it.

Continue through the final Review and in to the File section.

Keep going until you submit your state for e-file.
