Amended 2023 return

I amended my 2023 return through Turbo Tax but it was never processed. I had to add an additional W-2

What do you mean by it was never processed? Did you submit (e-file) your amended return?

I efiled the return but I noticed the refund amount did not change, although it should have.

Plus if I was to pay for amending my return, it never took out the amount

You shouldn't have to pay for an amendment.

It's possible the additional W2 did not make a difference. It's hard to say without being able to look at your return. How much additional income was in box 1 of your W2 and was there anything in box 2?

There was approximately $8,000 and the new W-2 but the employer only withheld $28. So the refund should be much less. I checked and it said my new refund would be around $2,400 plus it never processed the updated state return

Below are the guidelines for filing an Amendment. I would review that you did your amendment correctly. If not, you might need to amend your amendment.

If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been submitted, you should follow these guidelines.

You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed.
You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.
Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return.
The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due
Only make changes to the areas of your return that need amending.
You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment
