To further elaborate, for tax years 2020-2023 I contributed max dollar amount each year to my Roth without realizing that my modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) was too high. I withdrew all contributions from my Roth account and am now using TT to amend my returns for each of those years and pay the penalty (6% for each year the contribution stayed in my account).

I’m starting with tax year 2023. It's pretty straight forward on TT but it also wants to amend my state return even though TT shows I only owe the penalty to federal. Should i disregard the state return or amend it anyway and mail it in?
