      <description>&lt;P&gt;No. &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Dependents cannot receive stimulus checks ---or at this time -- &amp;nbsp;the recovery rebate credit on a 2020 return.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;But that was for 2020. &amp;nbsp; Are you asking if you can claim them on your 2023 return? Maybe. &amp;nbsp; Do they fit the criteria to be claimed?&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks for your reply.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Dependent had received stimulus checks &lt;STRONG&gt;automatically&lt;/STRONG&gt; sent to their social security account.&amp;nbsp; Dependent never needed to filed federal tax returns. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am helping someone who is catching up with 2020 tax return(due to missing records).&amp;nbsp; Can that someone still claim that dependent on the 2020 tax return?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you!&lt;/P&gt;</description>
