Hi there,

The individuals that bought into cryptocurrencies years ago, before regulations and tracking softwares were started - how would you recommend they track their basis? Many of these individuals have no ability to get into the platform/exchange they originally purchased crypto from. In addition to that, I have seen many individuals that made hundreds of buy/sell transactions after the original transaction. Many of which were losses.

Yes. The basis is difficult to track when there is no platform to start from where to try to track historical prices for Crypto. There are some websites listed that claim they offer to provide historical stock prices on Crypto. Here some websites you might use that may be useful. As a disclaimer, we do not attest to the reliability of these sources but only list these as possible sources of information.

Crypto Data Download This site says that they can provide the data in a CSV format that can be imported easily to Turbo Tax

Coin Market Cap Tracks historical data back to 2013.

CoinCodex

Bloomberg Can offer historical data for the last five years.
