Where can I find these interview questions related to form 8615? I've been having this exact problem where every time I delete form 8615 it magically reappears, but I can't figure out where to find these interview questions that supposedly have told TurboTax that I need to complete this form.

 Try this first:

 TurboTax Online:

Open your return, if it's not already open.

In the upper right corner, click My Account > Tools.

In the pop-up window, select Delete a form.

Click Delete next to the form or schedule and follow the instructions to remove the form/schedule.

If you have tried this already and it keeps coming back, it is because you have answered an interview question that requires the 8615. See below to see if you need it and then go back to interview in personal section edit if you do not really need the 8615.

The 8615 is automatic based on your answers to the interview questions. As long as the answers remain the same the form will reappear if deleted.

The 8615 can be required whether you are claimed or not.

Tax for Certain Children Who Have Unearned Income

If a child's interest, dividends, and other unearned income total more than $2,100, part of that income may be taxed at the parent's tax rate instead of the child's tax rate. If the parent doesn't or can't choose to include the child's income on the parent's return, use Form 8615 to figure the child's tax. Attach the completed form to the child's Form 1040 or Form 1040A.

Form 8615 must be filed for a child if all of the following statements are true.

1) The child's unearned income was more than $2,100.

2) The child is required to file a return for 2017.

3) The child either:

a) Was under age 18 at the end of the year,
b) Was age 18 at the end of the year and didn't have earned income that was more than half of his or her support, or
c) Was a full-time student at least age 19 and under age 24 at the end of 2016 and didn't have earned income that was more than half of the child's support.

4) At least one of the child's parents was alive at the end of 2017.

5) The child doesn't file a joint return for 2017.

Here is how to get to the Interview questions for Form 8615.

Open your return and pickup where you left off

In the left Margin, select Tax Tools

Tools

In Topic Search, type Form 8615

And this is what you should see....

Thanks for the response! I managed to figure it out though, turns out the interview question that was causing that form to pop up in my tax return was the one asking if I supported myself or not. Additionally, the fact that I have "taxable stipend or fellowship income" as a graduate student probably complicated things as well.

I used TT 2024 Premier installed on MAC to file my daughter's taxes. It was filed / accepted / taxes were paid. However, as it turns out, she paid for her own school and living expenses for college which is more than 50% (more like 75%) of any support we gave her while she was a HS senior in the spring. This means that she does not need to file a kiddie tax (Form 8615) and I want to amend the return to get her tax paid refunded. I am having trouble removing it in forms mode and there's no question in the interview that provides an option to remove it. Any ideas on how to work around this would be appreciated. Thank you.
