I filed my 1040 2023 tax return on February 5, 2024. Turbo Tax verified that it went through on their document "Electronic Postmark - Certification of Electronic Filing". The IRS took my payment out of my bank account. So I just opened my Turbo Tax program so I could do another tax return and the program says this return was "Not printed or Efiled". What should I believe and how can I verify that it was filed?

Click on the File menu at the top left of the desktop program screen.

Click on Electronic Filing>Check Electronic Filing Status

I wouldn't worry about that. Things happen. But you know the IRS got it if you got an Electronic Postmark and the IRS took out the payment. Did you open the right return? And get the emails?

When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.

For the Desktop program you have to check the filing status inside the program. Open your return and go up to menu item

File > Electronic Filing > Check Electronic Filing Status

Thank you for responding. For some reason I didn't save the document correctly. It says it was filed now!
