The Credit is worth up to $750 for renters and $1,100 for property owners that live in their home.

To claim the renters credit you or your spouse must be

over 65 years
100% disabled
over 60 and received social security survivors benefits
Not employ illegal or unathorized aliens
Paid rent on a home that the landlord pays property taxes or owned and occupied a home where you paid property taxes
Have a household income of $27,200 or less if you are single and less than $29,200 if married filing jointly for rent
Have a household income of $30,000 or less if you are single and less than $34,000 if married filing jointly for home owners
