Every year I suppose to get one free state . I clicked on it . Same story you charged me $25 anyway.

Like last year now you have to send me a check for $25.

Its for the state of MICHIGAN.

I am waiting for my $25

You are misunderstanding. Deluxe and above come with 1 free state PROGRAM download to prepare unlimited state returns. Then each state (including the first one) is $20 (usually goes up to 25 March 1) to efile. Although if you buy Deluxe in the stores it comes 2 ways, Deluxe with a state and Deluxe without state for states that do not have an income tax. So check the box or description. It should say Federal + Efile + State

If this has happened in past years---you already know that there is a fee to e-file a state return when you use the CD/download. This has been in effect for years. It is not new.

The CD/download software that included the state software had the program for preparing the state return. There is an extra fee to e-file the state. Before March 1 that fee is $20; after March 1 it increases to $25. You can avoid the state e-file fee if you print and mail the state instead of e-filing it.
