      <description>&lt;P&gt;With this entry, your employer is saying that you had negative 30.35 dollars of income in whatever state is in box 15.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;This sounds like a mistaken calculation in the software that generated your W-2.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I suppose it is possible that this state has some adjustment that would reduce the apparent income to be less than zero. Since I don't know the state, I can't be sure, but I imagine that any calculation here that results in a number less then zero, should be set to zero.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Contact your employer and ask what this entry in box 16 is supposed to be, and then get a corrected W-2.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
