Amended return

Hello,

I filed my tax return over 3 weeks ago for direct deposit. I was wondering what was taking so long to receive my return so I checked. I looked over my return and realized I made a mistake. So, I amended that part of my return. Turns out I will owe some money back and will be taken out of my savings, no problem. My question is.....when will I get my original tax return directly deposited from when I filed 4 weeks ago?

Yes, you can track your refund using the Where's my refund? tool.

Normally, refunds are issued in about 21 days.

You are supposed to wait until your original refund is fully processed before amending your return, but since it has been more than 21 days already, hopefully it won't cause any problems.

Thanks for your reply. I used the "Where's my Refund" tool. That is how I saw that my refund was still in the " Returned Received " spot after 3 weeks. Then decided to amend a part of it because of a mistake. I thought the sooner I found the mistake, the better it was to correct it. Ugh! Hope I didn't screw it up!
