      <description>&lt;P&gt;Qualifying education expenses would include the cost of tuition, fees and other related expenses necessary to attend your school of higher learning. As a rule, they consist of fees that are required to be paid, as opposed to discretionary expenses or those of a personal nature, such as housing, food or medical care. &lt;P&gt;From that article by the IRS, these are expenses that would not qualify:&lt;/P&gt;
