      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes, you can still claim your son as a dependent if you provided more than half of his support in 2017. You do not report his income on your tax return.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If his wages (on form W-2) is over $6,350 or if his income on form 1099-MISC is over than $400, he is required to file his own tax return. Even if his W-2 wages are less than $6,350, he can file a tax return to claim a refund of taxes withheld. He has to indicate on his return that he can be claimed as a dependent by someone else.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
