How do I change the install path?

The default path is C:\Program Files\TurboTax\Individual 2023.
I changed it to C:\Program Files (x86)\TurboTax\Deluxe 2023.
The installer ignored my (x86) and put it in Program Files. I've uninstalled it twice to start again and am unable to put it where my previous years' programs are installed.

I'm not sure if you tried to first create the file folder. Then, ask TurboTax to install the program in your folder.

Not all programs create new folders for you. Sometimes you have to do that. Good luck.

The 2023 TurboTax software is a 64-bit program . The installation software does not allow the software to be installed in the Program Files (x86). It can only be installed in the Program Files directory on the C:\ drive.

You actually should not be too concerned about where TurboTax 2023 puts the program on your computer. The data for your 2023 return is saved in a totally different file folder. At least, in my installation, it went into the My Documents folder > TurboTax. It's the same folder that TurboTax has been putting my data into for the past 10 years. I see that the TurboTax 2023 Program went into Program Files, as you indicate.

I filed today. TT 2023 was able to find any 2022 information that it needed. No problem.
