My transmission will not go through

I am unable to transmit my 2023 return, to the Intuit Electronic Filing Center, from my Mac desktop, OS Monteray v:12.7.3. The message is that my transmission failed because the “Tax Year 2023 transmissions are not available", and, "TurboTax is not ready to process Tax Year 2023 for this return” It then suggests I try again, but that repeatedly fails. Also, if repeated attempts doesn’t work, it suggests print and file by mail. However, I do not wish to submit my return by postal mail.

I installed 2023 TurboTax Deluxe from a CD purchased thru Costco. Please advise me, at your earliest opportunity, when this software issue will be resolved so I may then submit my return. If a new installation is needed, please advise and provide explicit direction for re-installing TurboTax Deluxe from your provided download. Please note, I am a long time TurboTax user, and have never had any issues of this type and electronic filing has always been a breeze.

I shall await your reply so I may then successfully transmit my return electronically.

Yes, people sometimes get that message and it can be caused by a number of different issues. Please try the troubleshooting in this article.

Also, if you are trying to send your state and federal return together, you can try just sending your federal by itself, unless you are filing North Dakota, Rhode Island, or Vermont. Those three state can only be filed with the federal return.

Once your federal is accepted, you can send your state.

I succeeded in filing my taxes, but I needed to file Fed and NY separately. I also needed to remove the option to schedule quarterly estimated NY tax payments with my return, and, disable my VPN while transmitting the NY tax return. Mission accomplished! (I provided these details to, hopefully, alert other filers who may experience similar quirks with their returns.)

My 2023 Tax document folder goes to the file cabinet now! Another tax year in the books.

Following advice, after multiple transmission attempts failed, I first filed Federal Forms. Accepted. I then cancelled state EST Taxes and filed state forms successfully.

What a pain!!!!!!!!!

It also took a bit of digging to find this solution.

Poor support from Intuit.

How do I file federal first then state separately? I'm doing an amendment and it's not showing a way to amend them separately :(

Be sure you are using these instructions for amending:

If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been submitted, you should follow these guidelines.

You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed.
You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.
Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return. 
The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due
Only make changes to the areas of your return that need amending.
You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment
