Is Upgrading always an option?

Hi. I would like to sign up for the basic Turbo Tax and TRY to fill in the forms myself. *IF* I have problems, can I upgrade at any time? Let's say I file an extension for this year... and then I have problems in August or later... will I be able to upgrade at that time, or is there a time limit on upgrading? Thanks. I am VERY new to TurboTax. Sorry for the basic questions...
