Hi Turbo Tax do you offer pc version of Turbo Tax 22/23 in a 32 bit operating system. I don't wish to buy a pc just for a 64 bit system. For what I do on a computer 32 system works fine. I have received the Turbo Tax cd.

I return the 2023 version of turbo tax since a 32 bit version was not available. I think intuit really dropped the ball with the decision to only offer a 32 bit version. I have programs I use all the time I am not willing to replace just to convert to 64 bitOS for one program. H&R offered a 32 bit system so for the first time in over 22 years I will not use TurboTax. When a company makes this type of change you would expect to see in large print on the front of the package a notice of the operating system requirements. You would think the company would have sent out a notice of the change to its existing customers when the decision was made to ditch the 32 bit version.

Give you a hint ... next year Block will not support a 32 bit either ... they lag behind in the changes a bit to get TT's cast offs like you but they will also change their program as they always do.

You can still use the TT online version instead.

FYI ... WIN 10 will no longer be supported by the end of this year so expect the ability to use WIN 10 to also be discontinued soon. My professional program already warned that the WIN 11 would be required for the 2024 program and was highly suggested for the 2023 program.

So the intuit solution is to try to force all their customers to spend dollars to upgrade their hardware and operating system. I think a better solution would be to offer a 32 bit version of turbo tax 2023. I know I am not alone in being an older user that does not want to change off a platform I know to an unknown. I believe intuit is going to see sales plummet!!!

Same here. I've been using TurboTax for about 20 years and it has always worked fine with 32-bit OS. I am no about to spent the money and go through the trouble to upgrade my computer or buy a new one just to use TurboTax when there other options available. Big mistake, TurboTax. They must be in cahoots with Microsoft.

TurboTax Free Edition is very limited. It's only for the simplest tax returns. But if you have pension or IRA income on a 1099-R, with no complications, you can probably use Free Edition.

If your AGI is $79,000 or less you can probably use IRS Free File.

And the IRS is testing a pilot program called Direct File ... https://www.irs.gov/about-irs/strategic-plan/direct-file
