Any having issues with the tax history tool in turbotax pemier? It's now showing the effective rate incorrectly and listing my taxes owed as a 2210 penalty for 23 and all prior years? I reinstalled it but still not working correctly.

We have tested the Tax History report but are unable to reproduce the experience you have seen. It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2023" file to test further.

If you would be willing to send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information, please follow these instructions:

In TurboTax Desktop, open your return and go to Online in the TurboTax header.

Choose Send Tax File to Agent.
You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click Send on this screen and wait for the Token number to appear.
Reply to this thread with your Token number and tag (@) the Expert requesting the token from you. Please include any States that are part of your return.

We'll be able to see the experience you are having. If we are able to determine the cause, we'll reply here and provide you with a resolution.

After reviewing your token return, the calculations appear correct.

The computation of Effective Tax rate % is consistent with the formula TurboTax uses for this metric:

Tax from Form 1040 Line 18 (TY 2023) divided by Adjusted Gross Income on Line 11 (TY 2023).

You can also find these amounts on the Tax Summary as Tentative Tax and Adjusted Gross Income.

There are several formulas used to calculate effective tax rate, but this is the one used in TurboTax.

The line for Form 2210 penalty has no amount for 2023 and prior years are unique (not the same as Amount Owed). If this is different from what you have in your return, there may be other issues that need research.

Yes, I am having the same issue in that the tax history tool is not working.

If I rollover the “Taxable Income” bar, it shows my taxes. And I Do not get the red bar (Taxes). For each of the five years, it shows my “refund” as something like $12.80, or $9.86, and then the item “applied to next year” shows the real refund that I got. In all of these it says my “effective tax rate” as 22% but it shows a 0% tax bracket….. I wish!
