Tax return for 2018

I thought I had filed my taxes, guess not. Well I go to file and it’s adding a $44.99 deduction from my refund. Taxes are free. How do I remove this charge? Please help!! I need to talk to someone about this. I’ve contacted both turbo tax and irs support number and I can not seem to get it right

Be very careful on what website you are using

TT Has TWO websites and the one in the link you provided is the free one; the one that is blasted on TV is only free under limited circumstances

What website are you filing under? And what did TT state the $44.99 was for?

We cannot tell what version of the software you used. But not everything is free, despite all those "free, free, free" ads. Only the simplest of returns can be prepared and filed for free when you use regular online TurboTax. So you need to check and see just what you have strayed into:

If you used the wrong software then you can still make a change if you have not filed. You may have confused the Free Edition with Free File and they are not the same. If you were in Free File there would never be a fee for anything whatsoever. You can only use Free File if you qualify, though, and you need to go the the correct site to use it. You must also use a different account and user ID--not the same one you used to prepare the return you are being charged for.
