Box 12 info

I recently filed my taxes electronically and they were accepted by the IRS. I still have not received notice that my refund has been sent to my bank account. Other members of my family who filed the same day have received their refunds. I went back and looked and realized I left out the box 12 information (including 401K info) from my W-2. Could this be a problem that would be slowing down my refund?

W-2 information is forwarded to the IRS by the preparer of the W-2. It is possible that this error is holding up your Federal tax return.

What response do your receive when you enter information in Where's my refund?

We have received your tax return and it is being processed.

If you filed a complete and accurate tax return, your refund should be issued within 21 days of the received date. However, processing may take longer under certain circumstances.

The IRS has it and is processing it. The missing information is probably what is causing the delay. When To Expect Your Refund
