 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:hsl(0, 0%, 0%);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14px;"&gt;File it with the incorrect form, but you would have to do an amended return after you receive the correct one. &amp;nbsp;You would have to wait until the return is processed by both the IRS and your state before being able to file the amendment. &amp;nbsp;You would need to file a Form 1040X. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;

 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:hsl(0, 0%, 0%);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14px;"&gt;File an extension which gives you until October 15, 2024, to file your taxes instead of the tax deadline of April 15, 2024. You &lt;STRONG&gt;must &lt;/STRONG&gt;file an extension by April 15, 2024, to get extra time to file your taxes without a penalty. &amp;nbsp; You would have to make a payment before April 15, 2024, if you have a balance. &amp;nbsp;If you do an extension, when you get the corrected form, you will just go back to your return, correct the form, and file your return. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
