To clarify, are you filing a state tax return?

Did you select the state you live in when doing the Personal Info interview?

Yes Im doing my husband's taxes, I'm doing state currently. Yes I chose the state we reside in. But he has to file taxes for 3 states he worked in.

It sounds like the program is asking for "Taxpayer State".

Can you tell us anymore as far as when and where you see this question and the TurboTax program you are using (Online or Desktop)?

Yes I'm doing it on a desktop. I think I figured it out. I believe it was asking for the total withholding for the state we reside in? It said for a 1040 form which he doesnt have. But I looked online and found someone with a similar problem and that was the answer they were given. I put the withholdings for il in and it said it was correct
