      <description>&lt;P&gt;For the 2023 tax return you should file as Married Filing Jointly.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;In the &lt;STRONG&gt;My Info&lt;/STRONG&gt; section of the program when you are entering personal information for your spouse there will be a screen to select that they passed away and then enter the date of passing.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes, for 2023, you will still file as married filing jointly (if that is how you normally file). &amp;nbsp;In your husband's personal information section, I believe there is a box to check for "this person died during 2023."&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Some customers have been unable to e-file in this situation, possibly because the deceased person's SSN has been blocked to prevent fraud. If you can't e-file, you will have to print your return, sign it, and mail it in.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
