Hello,

I received two W2. I work in Oregon and one is “employee reference” the other is “city or local reference”. My employee reference is blank in box 18 and box 20 says TOTAL, other w2 has numbers in box 18 and 20 says METRO, all other boxes are the same. Do I need to file two w2 or will show I made double?

I think you are saying that you received two W-2s with all the entries through box 17 being the same. Only the entries in box 18 through 20 differ on the two pages.

Is that correct?

Do not double up the income in box 1 by creating two W-2 entries. Your final paystub from the end of 2023 should tell you what income should be reported in box 1 of your W-2.

Enter the W-2 entries from the first W-2 using boxes 1 through 17. Then enter the box 18 through 20 entries from the second W-2.
