When I switch from my prior desktop versions to the new live assist premier version for 2023 return,

will I be able to work on the new 2023 return offline?

Second, can I upload my older desktop data to the new online version and be able to compare all my prior returns with my new 2023 return?

No. If you are using the online version, even the live online version, you will need to be online. You cannot work in TurboTax Online without being connected to the Internet.

You can upload your 2022 returns to TurboTax Online, but for years prior to that you cannot upload the .tax file. You can do download the .tax file from online, but you cannot do it reverse.
