      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yes. &amp;nbsp;If you are married, be sure both W2s are entered for the same spouse.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;You get excess SS back if you had more than 1 employer and those employers took out more than the max for Social Security tax in W2 box 4.&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;For 2023 the max for Social Security is $9,932.40 on $160,200 of wages (160,200 x 6.2%).&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;And it is for each spouse separately if married.&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;Check 1040 Schedule 3 line 11 which goes to 1040 line 31.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;Or post back with the amounts in boxes 3&amp;amp;4.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;For tax year 2023, you'll have excess Social Security withholdings if the sum of multiple employers' withholdings exceeds $9,932.40 per taxpayer.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You don't need to take any action. &amp;nbsp;We'll automatically add the excess to your federal refund or subtract it from federal taxes you owe, whichever applies.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The excess will appear as a tax credit on &lt;STRONG&gt;Line 11 of your Form 1040, Schedule 3&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;TurboTax automatically does this, so you won't see the increase from this credit separately. &amp;nbsp; Check Schedule 3 for the credit.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
