Do you mean you owed tax due for the 2022 tax return that you filed in 2023? If you did not pay that, then your 2023 refund----for the 2023 return you file in 2024---will be offset and the IRS will take all or part of your current refund to pay the tax you still owe + interest for being late.

It is not clear what you mean by this:
