Depends what form you need. There will be updates all year long. I'm still getting updates for prior years. Check this lookup tool

The majority of the updates will be done by mid February however there are ongoing updates all year long for the "little things" that pop up.

Many federal and state forms are not yet available. Check here for form availability. The dates are subject to change.

Tax form availability tool,

No hurry to e-file since the IRS will not begin to accept/reject 2023 e-files until January 29. And….a state return cannot be accepted until after the IRS accepts your federal return.

2024??? not until a couple months into 2025.

...2023 forms are what is updating now (in early 2024)
