I also received a letter from CA FTB dated 1/31/2024 stating that there was a mistake on the 2019 tax return (I used TurboTax). It states that there was an error on the turbo tax return and that my income was under-reported for the CA return only. I reviewed the return and indeed there was a discrepancy between the federal and CA state tax return gross income, which is obviously a turbotax software mistake. Now it states I owe CA FTD an additional $10,924. What are the protections/warranties that Turbotax provides for its own software mistake? The interest alone charged by CA is $1,230.
