    <description>&lt;P&gt;I installed Turbo Tax 2023 on Windows 11 and when it starts up for the activation screen, half of the screen is black, so I cannot activate it.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;I tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times even removing the leftover files under Program Data and the user profiles.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;I installed updated graphics drivers.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;I made sure scaling was 100% and even changed the resolution to every option available down to 800x600 and still nothing.&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="Screenshot 2024-01-15 134319.png" style="width: 849px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/image/serverpage/image-id/38990i3DB60CD7265DF347/image-size/large?v=v2&amp;amp;px=999" role="button" title="Screenshot 2024-01-15 134319.png" alt="Screenshot 2024-01-15 134319.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Make sure that you are running the TurboTax program as an administrator.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Close TurboTax&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Right click on the TurboTax icon&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Click on Properties&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Click on the Compatibility tab&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Check the box Run this program as an administrator&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Click on Apply and OK&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Start the TurboTax program again to see if the problem persists&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;John2024,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i have the identical problem with Windows 10. I have tried all of the support teams suggestions but still get the black activation screen. I have uninstalled and re-installed TurboTax. I have changed display settings. I have disabled my firewall. I have added TurboTax and CelfSharp.browser.subprocces.exe as safe programs in Windows Defender. I have run TT in Windows 8 compatibility mode. I have downloaded the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++. I have turned off my second monitor. None of these changes solved my black Activation Screen problem.&lt;BR /&gt;John, did you find a solution to the problem?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I figured out the issue on my own. Over the years of having Windows 10/11, something got corrupted in the Windows directory that was preventing that popup window from displaying properly. I reinstalled windows and the issue resolved itself and now I can see the popup window.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="background-color:inherit;color:windowtext;font-size:11pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:windowtext;font-size:11pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;OL&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="background-color:inherit;color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;Type "environment" in the windows search bar.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="background-color:inherit;color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;This will bring up "Edit the System Environment Variables" as a match.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="background-color:inherit;color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;Clicking on it takes you to the "Advanced" tab of a dialog box titled "System Properties."&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="background-color:inherit;color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;Near the bottom of the dialog box, click on the pushbutton labeled "Environment Variables...".&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="background-color:inherit;color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;This brings up a separate dialog box that shows the current values for user environment variables at the top and system variables at the bottom. In the list of user environment variables, you should see both TEMP and TMP, and their current values.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="background-color:inherit;color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;Click on each, then click on the "Edit..." pushbutton.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="background-color:inherit;color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;This brings up another dialog box in which you can change the "Variable value" to "C:\Temp" (be sure to change the variable value, not the variable name).&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="background-color:inherit;color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;This folder must, of course, exist for this step to work properly.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="background-color:inherit;color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;OK out of all the dialog boxes and retry the install.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="background-color:inherit;color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;Environment variable changes take effect immediately, so if this is the only change you make, it's not necessary to reboot.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color:rgb(46,46,46);font-size:9.5pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;This is an update on my efforts to activate TurboTax 2023 on Windows 10.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;I reset the user Temp and Tmp environmental variables back to their original values. I then ran DISM and SFC /scannow which found and corrected some corrupt system files. I ran SFC /scannow a 2nd time and it gave me an everything correct result.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I uninstalled and re-installed TT 2023 which continued to fail to activate giving me a black logon screen.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who successfully solved this black screen &amp;nbsp;activation problem on Windows 10.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
