Turbotax Live Assisted Business

I understand that I will need Turbotax for Business in order to prepare a trust return. Regarding Turbotax Live Assisted Business, it notes that it is for small business owners who file their small business taxes as an S-Corp (form 1120-S), Partnership (form 1065), or Multi-member LLC. Will experts be available for advice and questions regarding Trusts and filing a 1041 and related documents that have nothing do to with S-Corps, Partnerships, etc?

No. You don't want those services. You need to buy the stand a lone Business program

You can buy the stand alone do it yourself Business CD/Download program for Windows here (it is not available to do online or for Mac). There are 2 ways to buy it. If you want a CD you need to pick the Advantage Plan in the left box.

Thanks for the reply, so to be clear, are you saying that Turbotax Live Assist Business is not available for Trust help? If so, if I acquire a stand-alone Business CD or Download program to prepare and file returns for Trusts, what are my options to receive help if I have questions when preparing a Trust Return? (I may have three personal trusts to file/)

If you don't know what o do maybe you should go to a local tax place or accountant or enrolled agent, etc.

That was kind of a curt response from VolvGirl. So, you're saying that anyone who uses a turbotax program should never be in a position to ask a question, because if they do, they need to seek out an accountant, EA, etc? What is the Turbotax Live Assist programs for if people preparing their own returns shouldn't ever need to ask for some help with an occasional question or two? For about 35 years I have used programs such as Turbotax to prepare returns for a sole proprietorship and then C-Corp returns when I incorporated, as well as my personal 1040 returns. I just have never personally prepared a Trust return, and my wife and I have 3 trusts, and if I decide to attempt to do the Trust returns myself, it would be nice to be able to ask a question of one of the Turbotax "experts" if I find it necessary. I would appreciate a more reasoned and considerate response to my questions.

@Jimbotax2 The Live Assist Business does not support Form 1041 Trust tax returns.

@DoninGA Thank you for clarifying that the Live Assist Business does not provide support for Form 1041 Trust tax returns. If I needed to ask a question when working on a Trust return with the Business software, is there any avenue available to ask a question?

@Jimbotax2 The best avenue when using TurboTax would be right here in this forum if you have specific or general questions concerning the trust return you will be completing.

TurboTax support is not set up to answer the type of questions related to a Business return or a Trust return.

If you have a product problem, billing problem or account problem TurboTax can be contacted.

Support is open from 5am to 9pm Pacific time, Daily until April 20.
