Comparison Information not wanted

I know this may sound strange, but is there a way to NOT show last years information for comparison?

If you transferred your 2022 tax file in to the new 2023 return, then you are going to see last year's information. If you want to start over from scratch and do a 2023 return that shows nothing from 2022, you can start a new account, or start a new return if you are using the CD/download, and just do not transfer 2022 to 2023.

Thank you! I was hoping it was something fairly simple.. I started my return online, but I guess it hasn't gotten to where it asks me about importing last year...

It is not going to "get" to a point where it asks about transferring last year. That transfer has to happen before you enter even one bit of new 2023 information. If you did not transfer the 2022 tax file at the very beginning, you will have to enter everything including all of your personal information from scratch, and you will not be seeing any 2022 information.

Hmm, ok. I don't remember it asking me if I wanted to. I haven't done much at all, I think I will clear and start over (I read where you can do that)

@Peg27 Are you using the Online web version or the Desktop installed program?

There is a tricky way to clear out transferred info in the Online version. But doing this will also clear out all your current entries. Go to Tax Tools -> Tools -> Transfer from your computer -> Continue -> then Continue without transferring.

Or you can just start a brand new account with a new username. How to start a new online return
