Complete Form W-4 and indicate that you are married in Step1 (c).

Since you will be working a short time in 2024, it is not necessary for you to complete worksheets relating to your spouse's pension and Social Security income.

Your employer will withhold Federal Income Tax at standard rate and this will most likely trigger a refund when you file your 2024 tax return.

There is not an elegant way to shut off the Federal withholding because of your unique circumstances.

I am 65 as of 5/3/2023 and will be retiring on 2/1/2024. I am required by my job to complete this form as part of applying. I have applied for Social Security to begin the same month. My husband who is 67 is retired, gets a pension and Social Security. He is taxed for a small part of the SS too. Since I worked during all of 2023 and will work 1 month into 2024. Our taxes amount for the federal government in the past year was under$1000 but I have made about $3000 more this year due to a raise. How do I complete this form?
