You cannot file a tax return using your paystub. You have to use the W-2 that is provided by your employer. Your last paystub will not have the correct information.

Employers have until January 31, 2024 to give you the 2023 W-2.

A 2023 tax return cannot be e-filed until January 4, 2024. The IRS will not be accepting any type of tax return until mid to late January, so there is no need to file until the IRS starts accepting tax returns.

First of all, no one can file a 2023 tax return yet, because tax year 2023 will not end until December 31; the IRS will not begin to accept 2023 returns until sometime later in January of 2024.

Your pay stub will not match the W-2 that your employer will issue to you in January.

Do not try to prepare a tax return without ALL of your income documents; you must include every 2023 W-2 on the same tax return. Employers have until the end of January to issue W-2’s. Wait until you have all of your W-2’s.

@a0d89a4252f4 while you can submit your return on 1/4 the actual tentative date for the IRS to open e-filing is 1/18/2024. until the IRS actually opens e-filing the return sits on Turbotax servers. so it will be weeks before you will be notified that your return was accepted or rejected.
