I downloaded my state tax return and it says Turbo tax has been updated but I cannot see the state forms and it does not have the state step by step instructions.

The TurboTax State Download button still seems active but after clicking on that it again says the Turbotax software is updated for my state. Is there a way to see in the files if it has been downloaded? Can I download it manually and not thru the Turbotax Fed software?

Yeah, there's something screwy with that. But practically speaking...most state forms are rarely ready until sometime in January.

Depending on the state you need, the vast majority of state software sets won't be ready until the middle of January.

You can check your state at the link below, and re-attempt a day or two after that date:

I thought that could be the case but in past years the state forms would always be there. I'll keep checking in January.

The program updates a couple times a week at this time of the year so be patient while you check from time to time.

I am not looking for the final forms at 12/22/23. I am looking only for the preliminary forms so that I can calculate 2023 estimated income for Q4 estimated taxes. The states of CO and MN were available on 12/21/23 per the Turbo Tax software. CO was there but MN was not even though I purchased it and downloaded it and TurboTax said the software has been updated. I cannot see the MN forms.

I tried to contact the TTax support phone number at 8:30 AM MST on 12/22/23 but they said they were closed even though their posted hours are 5 AM to 5 PM PT Mon-Fri. Are they closed early for the Christmas Holidays? I wish they would post their holiday hours or provide them on their phone support lines if that is the case. Very frustrating trying to contact a live support specialist when AI chat keeps getting involved but is not the right solution in this case. Please give me a knowledgeable human being that speaks and understands English and can trouble shoot my download issue. Thank you.
